In a quiet heart once did reside
A garden beating, its beauty tied
To blossoms exuding a fragrant grace
Yearning for melodies to embrace
With eyes aglow as autumn's ember
See blooms reaching for the sky's tender
In life's embrace and meadows wide
Patience becomes the garden's guide

Ask me a question

It can be anything. What gets your heart buzzing when the sun peeks over the horizon? Or what is your favorite flower and does it ever change? Or do you ever feel like you're singing along with the birds when they chirp outside your window? Or what was your favourite cartoon episode when you were a child? Or none of these things — the choice is all yours. But, if you want to say something, even if it’s only hello, I’d truly love to hear from you. This is a space where you can leave me a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible. This form is intended for questions and casual chats, so if you want to have a deeper conversation about something specific or if you'd just like to speak to me in private, it would probably be better to write me an e-mail instead. Remember to speak kindly, and revisit this page to read my answer.

What is your favorite topic to discuss with a new friend?

I love that you decided to phrase your question this way, because since I was a little girl I always loved asking nearly every person I would meet about their favourites. What is your favourite flower? Or what is your favourite book? There is something so innocent and simple about it, but it also reveals so much about someone. Not only the little delights that make us happier everyday — everyone always feels better after they just listened to their favourite song — but they also allow us to briefly peek into someone’s heart. I love it when I ask someone what their favourite perfume is, for example, and they answer by saying that it’s jasmine because it reminds them of their grandmother’s hugs, or something beautiful like that. And I don't that think there is a better way to get to know someone than by knowing what they love!

I love the poems you share. I wanna start reading poetry but I have no idea where to start.
Do you have any recommendations for beginners?

One of the most delightful things about poetry is the fact that there is no right or wrong way to consume it. It is truly all about feeling it. Some people prefer to read anthologies and collections. I think it's a wonderful place to start if you’re interested in a particular theme. For example, you can search for an anthology of poems from the romantic era or only poems about spring. Others start with the work of one particular author. I think that is a good place to begin if you already found a writer whose work spoke to your heart in some way, but if you haven't, my personal recomendation for everyone is always Mary Oliver. And others will simply make reading poems part of their daily routine. These days there are plenty of sites, blogs and podcasts where people share a poem a day or something similar. You just bookmark them and remember to visit during your free time. Whichever you choose, I wish you a happy reading.
