Questions and Answers

The envelope, a pilgrim bold
Embarks a paper fleet
Across the vast and silent plains
To questions it must meet
The answer waits in distant hands
What words will bridge the air
The hope a letter softly brings
Of a whisper sent with care

Do you have a Question?

It can be anything. What gets your heart buzzing when the sun peeks over the horizon? Or what is your favorite flower and does it ever change? Or do you ever feel like you're singing along with the birds when they chirp outside your window? Or what was your favourite cartoon episode when you were a child? Or none of these things — the choice is all yours. But, if you want to say something, even if it’s only hello, I’d truly love to hear from you. This is a space where you can leave me a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible. This form is intended for questions and casual chats, so if you want to have a deeper conversation about something specific or if you'd just like to speak to me in private, it would probably be better to write me an e-mail instead. Remember to speak kindly, and revisit this page to read my answer.

Personal Questions

Do you have any tips on how to feel more dainty?

This question actually caused me a lot of introspection because, to be honest, feeling dainty is not something I have ever intentionally aspired to. In truth, I often find myself wishing for the opposite, overwhelmed by a sense of being too "twee" and overly quaint for this world. Daintiness, I think, comes from your vulnerability, which is why it can be aspirational to the observer and unconfortable for the experient. Maybe daintiness is not something you set out to acquire, but rather a consequence of the courage to face the world with tenderness? Like when a flower turns its face to the sun, unbothered in its trust that the light shall find it in due time. Or when a bird lifts its wings, just trusting the air to bear it aloft. Maybe you'll feel daintier by embracing fragility and experiencing vulnerability with an open heart.

What is your favorite topic to discuss with a new friend?

I love that you decided to phrase your question this way, because since I was a little girl I always loved asking nearly every person I would meet about their favourites. What is your favourite flower? Or what is your favourite book? There is something so innocent and simple about it, but it also reveals so much about someone. Not only the little delights that make us happier everyday — everyone always feels better after they just listened to their favourite song — but they also allow us to briefly peek into someone’s heart. I love it when I ask someone what their favourite perfume is, for example, and they answer by saying that it’s jasmine because it reminds them of their grandmother’s hugs, or something beautiful like that. And I don't that think there is a better way to get to know someone than by knowing what they love!

Hobbies & Interests

I don't know if you read manga, but browsing your page I think you'd like "Call the Name of the Night" :3 It's a very sentimental and comfortable manga and the art is gorgeous!

I really like manga, though it’s been a few years since I last read one. I think it’s because I am a very slow reader and, when I find a story I love, the number of volumes can feel overwhelming. But this one has only five, so it seems like the perfect way to get back into it. The synopsis sounds very comforting, exactly what I enjoy! And what a lovely coincidence: my favourite manga ever is The Ancient Magus' Bride, and as I read reviews for Call the Name of the Night, I saw that multiple people mentioned how it reminded them of it. I’m really happy that my preferences came through the website so clearly. It makes me feel like I am managing to share something genuine about myself here. If I do end up finishing it, I might write a little review in the Notebook page later. But either way, I thank you for such a thoughtful recommendation.

Website Questions

Hi, I was wondering how you made this page. I mean like this literal page.
It looks kinda like a piece of paper.

It’s a pretty simplistic code, actually. I’ve always prefered making the page width as small as possible, as long as the content is still readable. This one is only 650px. There’s also a very soft border (1px) around the content that makes everything appear more structured, like a notebook. All the fonts are Serif too, which is more traditional. I feel like all this, combined with an old-fashioned flowered background image gives it that letter paper imagery you’re probably thinking of. I also made a very intentional choice to not use any pixelated images anywhere on the site, which is a bit uncommon in the small web but makes it seem like everything here could be hand-drawn with coloured pencils. I hope that answers your question!
